WASC

Accreditation Information
Our school is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), the organization serving as the accrediting body for the western United States. A full description of the process and services can be found on its website: http://www.acswasc.org/

An accredited school is focused on a mission and goals for students; it is student-oriented and examines its students' performance continuously; it accepts objective evaluation from a team of outside peer professionals trained by ACS WASC; it maintains a qualified faculty within an effectively organized school; it collaboratively assesses the quality of its educational programs on a regular basis; and it plans for the future.

Why is accreditation important? Being accredited shows the public that the school is a trustworthy institution of learning, validates the integrity of a school's program and student transcripts, fosters improvement of the school's programs, and assures a school community that the school has a viable educational program. In addition, it is essential for college-bound students because colleges and universities examine transcripts to determine if students have attended accredited schools, and accreditation is necessarily to receive Cal Grants, and to have a-g courses considered by UC schools.
