FAQ’s Testing, Isolation, Quarantine, Group Tracing

There is no new info here, this is all from last week

Schools are required to verify negative tests taken day 5 or later to early release from isolation (positive cases). They are not required to verify negative tests on students exposed (contacts).

School staff are required to report every positive case into CVESD COVID-19 Tracking From 2.0 regardless of where test performed or type of test (home, community, etc.)

CVESD partnership with COVID Clinic is to do PCR surveillance testing/weekly screening testing (on site cart to each classroom – pilot program Allen and Tiffany), and, non-surveillance KIOSK PCR testing at Eastlake, Clearview, Castle Park 10am-6pm) for CVESD staff and students. Asymptomatic people CAN get a PCR with Covid Clinic Kiosk, they CANNOT at ESSC/Hedenkamp.

Students exposed can use ANY test. Staff must get lab test.

Please encourage anyone recently infected with COVID-19 to do antigen testing.

We are not collecting/tracking home tests for exposed students for group tracing.

The only time K-12 student names should be on close contact sheets is if the CASE is a student and staff were exposed – positive case student name goes at top of sheet, and staff listed on close contact section.

SDC: Generally, fully vaccinated or COVID-19 positive within 90 days do not need to quarantine. Those with diagnosis of immunocompromise may need to be excluded for 14 days. Classrooms with more than one unmasked/inconsistently masked student must be excluded for 10 days.

For group tracing, testing day 3, 4 or 5 is required to continue to attend school/extracurriculars. Vaccination status, prior covid infection are required to test. All in exposed group (15+ min indoors) must test.

Opt out for parents who do not want to test is 10 days at home.

Symptomatic individuals can return with a negative PCR take after onset of symptoms OR a negative antigen taken 5 days after onset of symptoms (day 6 return).

Preschool students who test positive may not return to school before day 11.

Please encourage confirmatory testing for home staff positives-the can do this at the Covid Clinic Kiosks. Staff CANNOT use home tests for initial positive or to release early from isolation or meet quarantine requirements (per Cal/OSHA
