The idea for CVLCC Family Hikes comes from the minds and hearts of Board Members Myrna Bernal and Jorge Rosales. We were talking after one board meeting about creating some way to get more families and kids outdoors – exercising and interacting together. That night the idea for the CVLCC Family Hikes was born!
The first hike was a phenomenal success. We had a least 50 parents and students make it to the top. We had a great showing from the teaching staff too! It was great to walk and talk and laugh together and to enjoy the beautiful view of San Diego on top of the mountain. We were all smiles… and we were all a bit sweaty!
Check out this amazing video Myrna Bernal produced to capture the adventure!
Mr. Godinez (MS Counselor) said, “Esta experiencia invita a tu familia a activarte fisicamente y disfrutar de la naturaleza de nuestra bella ciudad de San Diego.”
Daniel Garcia (HS Teachers) said, "Stay calm, and hike on!"
The next hike is coming up soon. We are going to do a beach and bluff hike at the gorgeous Torrey Pines State Park – this has got to be one of the prettiest hikes in San Diego.
The hike will be Sunday, March 17th– 8:00-10:00am
Myrna and Jorge are organizing a carpool and caravan that will meet at the CVLCC Parking Lot at 7:00 am – carpool/caravan will leave promptly at 7:15!
The HIKE will start in front of the bathrooms in the Torrey Pines North Beach Parking lot!
Address: 2099 Carmel Valley Rd, Del Mar, CA 92014
Parking is free on the street or you can pay to park in the lot.
